THE MIX

The Mix Orlando meets every Wednesday @ 7:00 PM for worship, small groups and a teaching geared toward their everyday life!

The Mix Orlando is the home of our Middle School and High School Students here at Church in the Son. We believe that the next generations of leaders is here and we are raising them up to Love God, Love People and Affect the World. We’re more than a youth group—we’re a movement of students, leaders, and parents who are passionate about loving God. We do this by creating a space where our students can find their place, know their purpose, and grow in their faith.

Students today are faced with some of the hardest questions and situations we have ever faced in our world. We believe Jesus has an answer to every struggle, temptation, and question we are facing today. It’s important to get connected in a place where we are answering your questions with biblical truth and providing a place to meet the right friends to do life with.

Who is God really? Who am I? What is my purpose? What does God think about me? How do I know if I’m making the best decisions? What do I do when…?  The Bible provides answers to these questions. We want to help you navigate life and live closer to Jesus one day at a time.

Every student who walks through our doors on Wednesday night or Sunday morning is greeted by leaders that love and care for teenagers. We want to welcome you to another incredible service! If it is your first visit,  you’ll be asked to fill out a guest card and get a name tag. That gives us little information about yourself. It’s very important for us to know who you are, who your parents are, and how to get in contact in case of an emergency and to let you know more things happening at the Mix Orlando.

After sign in you will enter the Mix or Mix mid room for a time of hangout and games. We will start service with a worship time, game, and creative teaching.

ABOUT OUR PASTORS

Pastor PJ and Roxanne Canterbury

Pastor PJ and Roxanne both grew up in our church and attended the student ministry as teenagers where they both fell in love with Jesus. They both studied in the medical field in college and Roxanne has been a nurse since 2008. Pastor PJ has been serving as our Student Pastor since 2010. They have two daughters, Leighton, Lyndie and a dog, Chase. They enjoy traveling and have a passion for CrossFit. They are all about loving Jesus, loving students, and reaching a generation alongside their leadership team. PJ and Roxanne’s desire is to see every student live free through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

YOU CANNOT DO LIFE ALONE

Face Time

In the Mix we believe that you can’t do life alone! That is why we created FaceTime groups where middle and high school students of Church in the Son can find a group of friends who they can laugh, learn and be themselves with. We came up with the name Face Time because you have the opportunity to experience christian community face to face with your peers.

We will have facetime groups built into our Mix and Mix Mid services where students can talk through the sermons and how they apply to their lives.

Some FaceTime groups also happen across Orlando throughout the month. They are a great time to hang, eat and talk about life. Through friendships and mentorship, we help our students grow in their relationship with Christ and become leaders. We will announce these groups regularly in our Mix service and how you can get connected to them.

When and where does face time meet?

Each Face Time group meets at different times and locations throughout the month. Every other month students have the opportunity to meet Face Time leaders during service and find out about which group they would want to get plugged into.

Do we meet outside of Church in the Son?

Yes, some Face Time leaders will meet with their group outside of Church in the Son at a coffee shop, restaurant, house, etc. whereas others will host theirs on campus.

Do I sign up for a facetime group? How do I choose a group?

There is no previous sign up needed. Depending on what grade and age you are, we will introduce you to a Middle School or High School Face Time Group Leader. They will connect you to a Face Time Group.
